I really desire to be a great photographer...you know the one who captures every moment perfectly. The one who never poses, just captures. Well, I'm not there, but I sure do love the way the world looks through the lens of a camera. I managed to escape my in laws house last night with my father in laws camera, thank you thankyou. So today I decided to take the kids out and snap a few. unfortunately it didn't go like I wanted and they never turn out quiet the way I desire. It's difficult taking pictures of a 3 month old, a one year old, and a seven year old. Roman has no desire to do anything but eat grass, eat blocks, or reach for the camera. Meya had no desire to do anything but eat and rest (my kinda girl), and Cambron well he was giving it an honest effort, but quickly took on my feelings. We were too hot and getting no cooperation from the little ones...so we opted for Hannah Montana and hot ham and cheese, but just prior to that we were able to get some cute ones. So heres our pics from today.

Romeo....Romeo. That he is. Such a sweet kiddo. I failed to mention babykins is walking. Thats's right he's walking around her like he owns the place, and I love it. Such a cutie. One of these days I will get the right adapter and post cute video from the video camera. But for today you'll have to accept cute pictures.

Roman's One!!!!

Well its been awhile since I've been on here. I stay pretty busy with Roman and Meya : ) Still trying to figure out how to do two babies, but I will say its getting easier.

So Roman turned 1 on the 11th . We had a big party on the 5th. It was great despite being like a million degree's outside. I couldn't even have the cake out until right before it was time to sing happy birthday because it would have melted! Roman was a lot of fun, and never acted like the heat bothered him. Unlike me I felt like I was going to die much like everyone else there. We had a lot of fun though.

It's so hard to believe that he is one. we are so blessed to have such a sweet little boy. It's hard to imagine that a little over a year ago he wasn't even here. We can't remember what our life was like before he was here.

Roman you are my sweet angel . I love you more than i will ever be able to describe in words. I've anticipated you my entire life--you've made dad and I so happy. i love your sweet spirit. How quick you smile and how when you are with a lot of people you do goofy things to make us all laugh.You have such a great personality, and an easy going nature. You always surprise me with how well you handle new things. I love the way you go with the flow. the noise you make when your pushing around your trucks makes me smile. I think its the sweetest when you throw books in our lap for us to read to you. There are so many sweet things that I love about you. I pray that you will grow to be a strong man with a kind heart. A man who knows how to truly enjoy all the gifts God gives you in your life. That you would love the Lords with all your heart. I pray that you would have a personal realtionship with God that is passionate and true. I speak blessing over you son. You ares loved more than you will EVER know. Happy first birthday!!!!!

My Day

For all you parents who feel like chocolate isn't good for your young children you may not want to look at this entry.

I was craving chocolate. This doesn't happen too often, but when it does I MUST have some. Since I have 2 babies I can't easily jump in the car and and make a mad dash to Wal-Mart for my favorite, Snickers, so I melted some chocolate I had froze from a baby shower and dipped some strawberries. It was like I had escaped forgetting about the two babies hanging out in the living room. I was in heaven. Then I felt the ever familiar tug on my shorts I looked down and Roman was looking up begging me to share with his eyes soooo.......I let him indulge in strawberries and chocolate YUMMY

Today was a weird day one that went by fast but I felt like all three of us where hanging by a thread from a breakdown. I don't know what it was but when the babies cried I thought about joining them several times.

It's very sweet how much Roman likes Meya. He's very concerned when she cries and and when she's in the swing he's right there talking to her and laughing. I know they will be close cousins.Here are some pics of their interaction

Happy 40th Birthday.....Woo Hoo

Happy birthday mom!!!! I hope you have a great day. I have been so blessed to have you in my life. I wish we could spend your birthday with you, but since we can't here's a post to wish you the best birthday. Have fun going do something that makes you feel really good, and enjoy a really good dinner, and know I'm thinking of you today. I'm so happy to have you to talk to and spend time with (when we can make it happen :) ) Have a GREAT 40th BIRTHDAY!!!!!! I love you!!!!!

8:20 am and I'm so tired. What is going on? I need to wake up Meya and Cambron will be here in just a few minutes. Someday's I just wish I could give everyone Benadryl, close the curtains and go back to bed. Isn't that horrible.

Update....finally

Gosh it been awhile since I blogged last. So let me update you on life here at the Laney's---

We had a great time in Florida. Roman did so well with the drive to and from and the stay there. I was afraid we weren't taking enough pictures, but once we got home I realized we had taken over 400 and therefore felt relieved that I had indeed captured our first family vacation well. It was great to spend so much time with my family. Roman had some good bonding time. I have to say although it was extremely hot and we were so tired if I could do it again tomorrow I totally would. It was very fun.

I started watching my neice Meya. She is 8 weeks old. Life with two babies is a bit different and MUCH harder than I expected. Thus the no updates for the last few weeks. Although the first week was terrible we are finally getting into a routine where they actually sleep and enjoy being awake. The hardest thing is going out, but we are getting the swing of it. Roman really likes her. It's cute. Yesterday she was in the swing and Roman was holding on to it while it was swinging. He was smiling at Meya and from underneath her paci you could see her smiling back. I think its neat that she stays with us. I was always close to my cousins, and I think Meya and Roman will be too.

John Mark's brother Daniel is coming home from Japan in a few days and we are all very excited to see him. He has been stationed there for a year and a half. He has never met Roman or Meya. It will be sorta weird to come home for him because of all the new additions and the changes in the family, but it will be great to see him.

Roman turns one in less than a month so I've been planning a party. I love birthday parties and feel that birthdays should be celebrated in style. I can't believe its been a year. I'm excited and a bit sad that its gone by so fast. We've had a great year. He is such a blessing and I thank God for giving him to JM and I.

Last but not least---Roman and I are going to Canada for the first week of August. I'm so excited. Honestly I'm a little nervous about making the flight with Roman by myself so if anyone has any tips send them my way :) My meme (mom's mom) is going to come as well. I haven't seen my sister's in forever so it will be great to see them and catch up on their lives.
