Fun Day Out.......Sorta

I was looking forward to this day all week. Family was coming up we were going to go to the large children consignment sale, eat lunch and shop. What fun!!! Unfortunately due to the threat of snow they decided not to come. Determined not to stay home---again for the 4th day in a row, I bundled Roman up and made it to the Rhea Lana sale. That's about it, Roman cried the whole time. I did get some great summer stuff, but I did it in about 15 minutes then we headed back home. Poor guy. I thought he was feeling better, but he's been asleep since we got home. When did going out, even if it is just one place, become such a treat? I wonder how having more children will impact my life. I want several more, and can't wait.Roman has been such a huge blessing. The best thing ever.

I just wonder because I feel like I run around like a crazy person most of the time. John Mark doesn't even recognize me when he gets home. I'm crabby and tired. I have stayed in a t-shirt and sweats all day. Don't get me wrong I love staying at home. I just hope that soon we will get a routine down. One where we go out and enjoy the day. One where I find fun things to do without spending lots or any money. One where when John Mark says , Hey lets go get pizza I don't run to put on my best outfit ( because its the first time I've really dressed all week).

I will say that being a stay at home mom is truly a gift. I know how blessed I am stay home. I just need to get into a routine. All of us who do stay home should get together. Even if it is just to walk the mall. It would be fun.

I know very well how you feel. I remember when you were a baby telling your dad that I felt like my brains were turning to mush. While I had just one baby, the trick was to find other stay-at-home moms, getting in a ladies' bible study and getting involved in some cause. Many things like that can be Roman friendly. When I get there, I'm gonna keep Romie Boy lots so you can go do "Big Girl" things. I can't wait. When you have more babies, I think you'll find that you feel a bit more insane, but a lot less mushy, listless, and unmotivated. That was how it worked for me anyway. Being a stay-at-home mom can be really challenging. I'm proud of you for doing it. Roman is very blessed.

I'll be thinking of you mall walkers while I am working at WM...:) I am so glad you get to stay home too. I wish we didn't have to swap places..:) Glad you found some good stuff at the sale. You'll get into a routine and it'll get easier and easier. AND it'll start getting nicer too...love you and hope to see you Sunday.

Stephanie,
We should really get together...reading this post brings me flashbacks of early times with Clara before we got a routine down. We try to get out every afternoon after nap and we love company...park weather is just around the corner too!!! The library is pretty great too. Anyway, e-mail me your number and we should chat. jessnewcomb@gamil.com

hey steph-
i'm so sorry we weren't able to come this week. i was really bummed, but maybe it was for the best since roman was still feeling bad.

i, too can totally relate to what you are going through. i wish we lived closer to one another. we could hang out during the week. i have just started making some friends with kids and i need to spend more time with them. i am also trying to get into a routine with the kids. i had so much planned for this week and it hasn't gone as planned at all. but i'll just put on a smile, pray for grace and try again next week.

i'll be praying for you guys. :)

love & miss you,
jennifer

You are not alone... Ben suggests going out to eat and I throw on my "coolest" outfit even if it's going to mcdonalds or somewhere... and then jealously watch the younger girls with their pre-baby bodies and cooler clothes... ;) My schedule is embracing that I'm lazy in the morning (don't call before 9 am) and then slowly getting ready. I like to walk at Lake Fayetteville when it's nice so call me if you want to get out!-Heidi
